"The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change." -- Carl Rogers
Hakomi is a gentle yet powerful experiential psychotherapy that uses mindfulness and somatic interventions to study the habits and beliefs that helped us to adapt and find our way in life. It guides us to connect with our bodies, emotions, and inner worlds in a present-moment and experiential way. In a safe and compassionate space, awareness unfolds naturally, allowing old patterns to soften and shift — not because they are wrong, but because they are no longer needed in the same way.
"The body says what words cannot." -- Martha Graham
In Hakomi, we're interested in what your body knows - not just what you think and feel. So we pay attention to sensations, spontaneous movements and other signals to better understand emotions and unconscious beliefs. Sometimes we work with touch – physical or imagined – always slowly, respectfully, and only with your consent. It is not massage or bodywork, nor aimed at releasing tension, but rather a mindful experiment to discover something new.

I'm offering these sessions as a part of my continued training in the Advanced Hakomi Practitioner Training with Hakomi Mallorca. While the sessions are offered free of charge, I am committed to providing you with the same level of care, confidentiality, and respect as in any therapeutic relationship.
Being a practice client is different from a long-term therapy relationship in that the focus is on honing specific techniques and approaches. This means our sessions may feel more exploratory, with an emphasis on trying out the Hakomi method. In exchange, you'll have the opportunity to engage in deep self-exploration and growth within a supportive setting.
We'll have a maximum of 5 sessions. The sessions will be online using Zoom. These practice sessions are recorded for supervision and learning purposes. Recordings are viewed only by Hakomi trainers and trainees and used solely for my own training and skill development. They are kept confidential and deleted after supervision.
If you're interested, please send me an email and let me know what days/times of the week work for you. Once we've confirmed your session, I'll send you a brief consent form about the recording process.
Clinical Psychologist MSc
Hakomi Therapist in training
I am Alex, a clinical psychologist living and working in Belgium. I'm about to start my 4th and final year of training in Hakomi Mindful Somatic Psychotherapy.
I love this work for the superpower of mindfulness - slowing down to meet our inner experience with curiosity and compassion. I trust that we make sense just as we are, and that growth unfolds naturally when we are met with presence and care.
I'm excited to be deepening my Hakomi skills through these practice sessions.
